Inter open to initial loan deal for January target Buchanan – report

Recent reports indicate that Inter are plotting a move for Club Brugges winger and Canada international Tajon Buchanan in the January transfer window, and recent updates suggest the Nerazzurri could be open to an initial loan deal for the 24-year-old.

Buchanan is a player Inter have tracked for quite a while already, dating back to the World Cup in Qatar last year. Their long-standing courtship is one of the reasons why the player is keen to move to San Siro according to recent reports.

The Ontario-born wideman has also reportedly decided not to extend his current contract with Brugge, which expires at the end of next season in the summer of 2025.

Buchanan was also not included in the Brugge squad that beat RWDM 6-1 in the Belgian Pro League on Friday.

Calciomercato.com report that Brugge value Buchanan in the region of €12m-€13m due to his contractual situation, however Inter are confident that they can structure a deal to lower the total cost of the operation.

With that in mind, Sunday’s reports suggest that Inter could attempt to persuade Brugge to allow Buchanan to leave on an initial loan deal at a cost of €1m-€2m, with an option to buy that would become mandatory if certain conditions were to be met.

Inter are not the only interested party in Buchanan. In fact, two Premier League sides are also keen, namely Bournemouth and Manchester City.
