Confusion over Juventus clause for Tottenham target Dragusin 

Multiple reports in recent days have stated that Juventus are entitled to a percentage of the profits made from Radu Dragusin’s potential sale by Genoa, however the reported sell-on clause was not mentioned in any of Juve’s official statements at the time of his move away from the Old Lady. 

Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport have both run stories suggesting that Juventus have a sell-on clause set at around 20%. 

This reportedly dates back to the time of Dragusin’s move from Juventus to Genoa in 2022. 

The Romanian defender left Juve on loan with an obligation to buy if certain conditions were met. Genoa made the move permanent in January 2023 for a fee of €5.5m plus up to €1.8m in bonuses. 

As Dragusin is reportedly attracting offers in the region of €25m from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, a 20% sell-on would fetch Juve a very handy bonus sum of €4m-€5m. 

However, Juventus’ official press release at the time of Dragusin’s move to Genoa made no mention of a sell-on clause. The statement confirmed that Genoa would have to pay €5.5m in two instalments, plus up to €1.8m in add-ons, but there was no information provided on future sales. 

While Tottenham are reportedly willing to offer €25m plus bonuses for Dragusin’s services in January, they are not the only interested party. Napoli had also lodged a cash offer plus defender Leo Ostigard, while Bayern Munich are the latest team to register an interest. 

Reports on Monday suggest that Tottenham are the current frontrunners to land the 21-year-old.
