X Outage: Elon Musk's social media platform suffers global outage, users unable to browse, access posts

Elon Musk’s X, formerly known as Twitter, is down again and seems to be going through a global outage. As per Downdetector, the website that tracks when certain popular websites are facing issues, and are inaccessible to users, over 2500 had complained of not being able to access or use the website as of 11:02 AM, just minutes after the outage was first experienced.

Downdetector also reports that about 62 per cent of X’s app users and about 31 per cent of the website users were unable to use the app, or view anything in the ‘For You’ tab.

Although users initially reported that they were facing issues with the ‘For You’ tab, soon, users were not able to watch or access any post. Furthermore, services like Tweetdeck were also down.

Services were restored later in the day, a few hours after the first reports of the blackout emerged.

As of now, there is no statement from X as to what caused this outage. However, experts believe the outage may have been caused by a bug in a probable routine system update.

A thing to note here would be that although X has been facing a number of outages since Musk took over, the frequency with which the site would go down, has certainly decreased. Also, since he appointed Linda Yaccarino  as CEO, Musk took control of X’s technical side of things and appointed himself as the CTO or Chief Technical Officer
