The Yamuna River has been a continuous source of trouble for Delhiites. Just a few weeks ago, the river was in bloom with flood water, and the situation has only gotten worse. The river’s water was taken from a VIP area in the capital, and the streets have overflowed as a result.

The condition of the capital has become increasingly unstable due to the inundation of the Yamuna river in most places, including the assembly, secretariat, chief minister’s office, and residence. In the meantime, all government schools and offices have been ordered to remain closed until July 14.No one shall be forced to work on their days off, only those who choose to do so shall be exempt from the new law.

After the release of water from the Hatinikund dam, the Yamuna river has reached a record level of flood water in Delhi. The current water level has reached 41 meters, surpassing the 1978 record of 49 meters.

The condition of the capital has become very dangerous after the river water entered the city. If the rains do not reduce, there is a risk of the city flooding due to the sleepy Yamuna river. Everyone from general public to politicians are going through problems because of the river water intrusion in places like Kashmirgate, ITO, Civil Lines, Mayurbihar, Bajirabad, Rajghat.

Delhi residents are advised to stay indoors as the government works to fix the city’s water crisis. All government offices, including educational institutions, have been ordered to remain closed on Sunday. Only offices dedicated to emergency services will remain open. The Delhi government has informed earlier that it will be difficult for the residents of the capital to get drinking water for the next two days. However, the Chief Minister has asked private organizations to allow their employees to work from home.

The Delhi government has issued Section 144 and residents are being advised to evacuate immediately. Arvind Kejriwal has reached out to the central government for help.
